Wang Lee Hom (王力宏)

First and foremost, today is April Fools. So Happy April Fools to all. Some friends tried to send me smses to fool me or tried play some prank on me but I guess I'm too smart to fall for any of it. Haha.

Anyway, I did a random search on Lee Hom (王力宏) today and found some quite interesting stuffs. I guess right now at this moment, everyone has already classified him as an international multi talented superstar who can sing, dance and talk very well. Good looking, with charisma and very confident individual. But look back when he just entered the industry in the 90s, you see completely different Lee Hom.

Back then, he was full of innocence. He couldnt really speak well, partly because of his mandarin. His singing was old-fashioned (maybe very modern back then) and his image was....... er....... like a salesman. Haha. See the video below and you get what I mean (like gray shirt with flower tie).

The difference is.. 15 years. I'm not kidding you. He took 15 years to be what he is today. This further enhance the fact that I truly look up upon him as a role model and an idol. Being able to improve and change constantly till today, he has come a long, and I believe also, a hard way. If Lee Hom were now to be still like what he is then, he probably wont go far. I mean, look at him then and maybe new boys like Fahrenheit or Derrick Hoh. Lol. But still, back then, he is already a very talented artiste. Anyway, here's some videos for you to enjoy. Dont be shocked. Haha.

There are in fact many other videos or photos that shows more. But I thought these are enough to shock everyone. Haha.

NOTE: I'm not saying I am Leehom or comparing myself with him or something in case anyone starts to protest after reading what I'm about to write next. Lol.

Watching these videos, I see myself. Like what I've said, it's not that I see myself as Leehom or feel that I'm going to be as successful as him or things like that. But rather, it's the newbie me that I see. The me who cant talk well, who cant sing as well yet, the one who cant perform well and the me who are prone to making mistakes here and there.

Watching these videos, makes me realise one fact: Never write anybody off. Meaning, do not ever look down on anybody because you never know, one day, he or she may become very successful too. Had anyone looked down on Leehom back then, thinking that he has no image, no stage presence, no commercial vocal or no value, these people will be the same people who will be slapping themselves hard in the face today.

Watching these videos makes me relief to know that even the superstars was like how I was when they first debuted. It gives me the motivation to work hard. And I will continue to do so. Hopefully, I can become successful myself one day too.

And when the day comes, I hope that everyone, my friends, family, supporters, readers, media and sponsors, can all be with me, like a Big Family!

I love everyone of you ok. :)

Special after-dark Hippo Tour

After a long tiring day at school, I finally got to do something relaxing. It's the 2nd event with OMY.sg, Radio 1003, Radio 91.3 and Bras Basah-Bugis Precinct! The first event was the Trishaw Night Out, which we followed Radio 1003. So this time round we decided to follow Radio 91.3, to be fair! Lol. Met Smith before the event and he actually hinted us to follow the Radio 1003 bus, which we found out later why (there's after tour supper), but we have already pledged our allegiance to Radio 91.3, so we decided to stick to it. Haha.

Anyway we had fun with the Radio 1003 and OMY.sg family too, since we have a combined break point where everyone just mingled together.

Finally saw Silver today. Havent seen her for soooooo long liao. Haha. Bumped into Ying Zi too. She is all grown up now. Remember her 4 years ago when I first met her, totally different from now. She's a beautiful lady now. Haha. (",)

Alright. Back to event proper!

We all gathered and set off from the National Museum. It's my first time taking the Hippo Tour and was quite excited about it. We were hosted by Radio 91.3 DJs Jeremy and Maddy, together with the other DJs and staffs of Radio 91.3.

We went through Orchard, Rochor, Short St and many other places and through the journey, Jeremy made the effort to explain to everyone and also to tell everyone the history of the sites we passed by. It's interesting to know that the places we passed either used to be something else, or it has been there since many many years ago. Jeremy's dedication towards explaining and such was the depth of his information, that I felt the History of Singapore I studied in school was nothing. Lol.

The Hippo Tour, just like the Trishaw tour, brings us to many places that even we Singaporean seldom visit. Once again, I felt like a tourist in a foreign land. Suddenly I realised I dont know very much about places in Singapore. Haha.

We stopped by Chijmes for a short break. Managed to get hold of the DJs and working staffs of Radio 1003 for a chat and a group photo. Jian Wen 大哥 and Kemin 姐 as friendly as usual. Always felt very comfortable in their company. They make me feel relaxed even though I feel kind of 紧张 talking to them as they are considered quite "senior" or 资深. Had a good chat with Alvin and Smith too. Smith is so funny. Haha. :)

Ok, some pictures now!

Me and the Radio 1003 Family

This is DJ Jeremy. A very very friendly, nice and warm person. He's also very funny and he likes soccer too! Haha. (",)

Kemin 姐 and I before the event. Pretty right? :)

This is DJ Maddy. Sad I didnt get to talk to her much. But she's also very friendly and her daughter is sooooo cute. Haha.

The participants of the event, before the event.

RIG Talents! They are cute right? Lol.

Joseph, Me and Kadon. Thank you Kadon for the keychain from Japan. Very sweet of you. :)

Group Shot!

Does these places look familiar, yet new to you? Seem like you've seen it somewhere, yet you've never been there? That's what I'm talking about.

Last stop before we end the tour. DJ Jeremy and Maddy were live on air here too.
I managed to give my the Media Promotional Copy of my album to all the DJs and Management of the two radio stations and OMY.sg. I hope they like my song and can support me! (",)

A Tough Road

It's tough being in the Entertainment Industry. This, I've known since 4 years back. All the glamour you see on screen and on stage are what are the result of hours and days and months of hard work. Noone sees that. When you do wrong, you get criticised. Though I have not been through real hardcore hardships, I would still say that it's never easy being an artiste. It's more than what you see, more than what most people perceive and believe.

I'm saying this because recently, two artistes from Mediacorp left and decided to call it quits. Both cited personal reasons and personal time and space. I'm sad because Dawn has been one of my favourite actress since I first saw her at Teens Model Search at Plaza Singapura. I think she's really cute and I hope to be able to work with her one day. When I heard she was preparing for her album, I was excited. But now, she has decided to leave the industry.

Jessica on the other hand, I saw her filming at Studio 6 once while I was at Mediacorp for my acting classes. She's really beautiful in person, and she's very friendly too. Her professionalism and charisma attracted me. Felt sad that she had to leave. I hoped she could do more.

Whatever it is, one thing is for sure, I'll miss them. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours. Best Wishes!

I'll be attending Hippo and Duck tour with OMY.sg tomorrow. My first visit!
