What Do We Love?

A good quote from the movie: The Hurt Locker.

Staff Sergeant William James: [Speaking to his son] You love playing with that. You love playing with all your stuffed animals. You love your Mommy, your Daddy. You love your pajamas. You love everything, don't ya? Yea. But you know what, buddy? As you get older... some of the things you love might not seem so special anymore. Like your Jack-in-a-Box. Maybe you'll realize it's just a piece of tin and a stuffed animal. And the older you get, the fewer things you really love. And by the time you get to my age, maybe it's only one or two things. With me, I think it's one.

How true? When we were young, we love almost everything we see. From coins, to our toys, to the adults' handphones, to cars passing, to the birds in the sky, to even the lights turning on or the cold air blowing out of the white box. We get fascinated by many things. But as time goes by, we get older, and the things we loved gets lesser and lesser. Things we used to love becomes worthless and not as special or lovable anymore.

Why?

Will I be loved when I'm no longer here?

Passing of a great Legend

Read the news few days ago and saw the news regarding the passing of Singapore's Legend, our founding forefather, Dr Goh Keng Swee.

Dr Goh has played an integral part in the development of Singapore. In 1959, upon taking up the post of Minister of Finance, he once famously described the state of Singapore’s economy as “wretched”. Thanks to his efforts, however, the economy did not stay that way for long.

Twelve years later, in 1979, Dr. Goh made significant contributions to Singapore’s education system, introducing key policies like religious education and streaming in primary schools. He also set up the existing JTC which created jobs for countless Singaporeans. His contribution to our country is significant and appreciable.

Thank you, Dr. Goh. Rest in peace.

Meanwhile, in the other part of the world, another boy has yet became a massive internet sensation after performing at his school's 6th grade festival. 6th grade I think is equivalent of Singapore's Pri 6. Young tender age of 12, his talents are incredible. Check out the video.

Feeling weak today. No strength to do anything.

Light of Hope

Attended Serene's album launch today at K Union. I'm so happy for her. Hearing what she and 小寒老师 said on stage, I teared. It's like a sense of sadness overwhelmed me all of a sudden. Maybe cause recently more easily emo bah.

They spoke about how much they went through before being able to successfully launch the album today and I can totally feel for them. I'm going through the same thing as well. 所谓台上一分钟,台下十年功。

I went on stage to give her my 小小心意。It's to show my support and encouragement to another newcomer in the industry. I specially picked chocolate bouquet instead of flowers because I told Serene that flowers wither, but thoughts will persevere. Each chocolate represents my heartfelt wishes to her and after eating, may her enjoy and taste sweetness and success in the future to come.

I'm sure she'll be successful under the guidance of her 3 mentors, Jim 老师, Eric 老师 and 小寒老师。Serene 加油!All the best to you!

I'm sure many of you have seen today's Shin Min and read the news about me. It's spreading quite fast like wildfire now. Just like Serene 龚芝怡's new song 在我左右, I know every of you are standing beside me to fight this tough war now. I wish I can be as strong as everyone wanted me to be. I know sometimes I just cant control my sadness. It's not because I'm scared or what, just that I worry I cant sing in future. Then how do I thank all my supporters and sponsors? Haiz.

日子似乎过了快些, 可是快乐似乎没有多些. 想起我如何进娱乐圈, 想起许多事物, 仿佛好像是昨天才发生的事. 梦想遥远了.
