Tradition has be on going for a long long time that we eat certain delicacies during certain festive seasons. This Christmas maybe besides eating all the traditional goodies, you may want to know about the history and significance of eating them!

Bûche de Noël, AKA "Log Cake"

A common holiday cake served in countries that were at one point a French colony, the Bûche de Noël, or "yule log", is a cake prepared and decorated to look like, well, a log. It's supposed to symbolize the log used in the fire festival of the winter solstice. Yes, winter solstice. While the cake's name has "Noël" in it to refer to the birth of Jesus, it turns out, the tradition is rooted in 6th century Anglo-Saxon paganism. No surprise there: the yule log is just one of two Christmas observances that originated from paganism. The other would be mistletoe.

Candy canes

This sickly sweet treat originated in Europe during the 17th century. The Christians back then had just adapted the Christmas tree, and as ornaments, used cookies and sugar sticks. It was in 1670 when a German choirmaster decided to bend one end of the stick, supposedly to represent a shepherd's staff. The treat was handed out to children during the long Christmas Mass, and the tradition of handing out candy canes to kids was passed on to the Americans. But back then, the humble candy cane was stripe-less: think a plain white sugar stick with no flavoring at all. No one knows who added the stripes to the candy cane, but Christmas cards printed before the 1900's showed plain white canes—those printed after 1900 has striped canes. Wintergreen and peppermint flavors were added to the candy around the same time it earned it stripes!

Gingerbread

Gingerbread goes waaaay back to the ancient Greeks and Egyptians, who used it for ceremonial purposes. But the cookie that we know and love today can be traced back to the 11th century, when spices were being discovered in the East—because of its rarity, only rich European folk could enjoy the treat. When gingerbread finally became affordable to the masses, it was pressed into wooden molds and decorated with white icing. (Or gold, if you could afford it!) The first gingerbread man was actually a woman—Queen Elizabeth I, to be exact. Apparently, to impress some visiting dignitaries, she had one made in her own likeness. Since then, gingerbread men were sold at fairs. Oddly enough, crumbled gingerbread was also used to mask the odor of decaying meat.

Eggnog

Possibly the only alcohol children are allowed to drink (well, at least just a little bit!) around the holiday season, eggnog is a Christmas tradition that goes back to the 17th century. Literally meaning "egg in a cup", it was used to toast to one's health (the Brits, however, call the drink "egg flip," as they "flip" the mixture between two pitchers to mix it). Eggnog used to be the trademark drink of the upper class, since they were the only ones who could afford milk. It became widespread in America, since milk was easily accessible there. If you're planning on making your own egg nog and are worried about salmonella, use pasteurized eggs, or cook the eggs into a custard to ensure all salmonella bacteria is killed.

Fruitcake

Also known as the world's most gift-recycled food item during the holidays, since they're notorious for staying edible for years. People reckon the first fruitcakes (at least the ones that we know of and enjoy today) were made in the 13th century, around the time dried fruits arrived in Britain. Since then, fruitcakes were used in important celebrations, such as weddings. To say making fruitcake in the 18th century was hard to make is an understatement—fruit had to be washed, dried, and stoned. Butter was washed in water then in rosewater, and the eggs were beaten for half an hour or so. While there are machines that can do this work for you today, bakers still make the cake months in advance in order for the bread to soak in the alcohol—which also acts as a strong preservative. How strong? Well, an article published in the New York Times in 1983 tells a story of a woman who inherited the family heirloom: a then-86 year old fruitcake, baked by her great-grandfather back in 1794.

I know I haven't been blogging for sometime. Was held up with the Malaysia promo tours and other activities. I'm sorry if I disappointed anyone. But I'm back for good now. Hehe.

Attended a few weddings lately. Just yesterday was my cousin's wedding. It only seems like yesterday when we all still play together at the void deck, running around playgrounds, having sleepovers and all the silly things kids do. And now, he is the first of our gang to tie the knot. Really happy for him!

Congratulations Lionel and Xin Yi. May you both be blessed with all the love in the world. Wishing you two a blissful marriage. 白头偕老，永浴爱河！

Malaysia Promo Tour - Johor Bahru

Just came back from my Malaysia Promotional Tour at Johor Bahru. First stop was KSL City. Was greeted by a pleasant sight when I reached K Box Plus. You guys see anything familiar? Hehe.

After that was autograph session.

After that we headed to City Square Mall for the second stop.

After a long tiring day, we went to this place near KSL City for dinner. I swear the BBQ sticks are damn nice!!!

During dinner we all also found out a secret of Evangeline. Will disclose it some time later! Hehe. After dinner we headed to our last stop for the night, Jazz & Blues Discovery.

The following day we headed to Plaza Pelangi for the final stop of my Johor Bahru promotional tour.

After that was dinner. Met up with my good brother Jae Leung who happens to be having promotion on the same day too.

After dinner we finally got to head back to Singapore with a heavy heart. I felt as if I haven't had enough fun. Thank you for having me at Johor Bahru. I met quite a lot of new friends and supporters there. Thank you for everything. I will see you guys soon!

Elson Soh at Urban Fitness Lab

I'm proud to announce that I have officially started my workout regime with Urban Fitness Lab! I'm currently working out using the Power Plate, which enhances the workout performance by the use of vibrations.

This is the Power Plate machine that I'm using now.

A usual workout regime lasts about an hour. Your personal trainer will customize your workout according to your ability and body needs. My trainer is Tanuja, a very friendly lady!

Before I start every exercise, Tanuja will demonstrate the right way to do it! This is the "Push Up" exercise routine.

After which is my turn! She will guide me through the proper steps.

This is the first time I'm exercising using the Power Plate machine and I can say it is really different as compared to the usual gym that I go to. Moreover working out using the Power Plate also increases the effectiveness of the workout.

Basically the benefits of working out using the Power Plate machine includes:

Increase flexibility and range of motion

Urban Fitness Lab

Headed down to Urban Fitness Lab today at Boat Quay to learn more about their services. I was greeted by their friendly instructor (who coincidentally is going to be mine) Tanuja and their pretty manager Patsy.

I did some tests and checks and realized that some part of my body isn't as healthy as I thought it was, like certain areas have more fats than muscles etc. But I'm so glad I will soon be able to enjoy the services of Urban Fitness Lab. It's time to shape up myself!

Today is a happy day. Why? Because there are many reasons to be!

Not because I'm running a fever though. Lol.

Headed down to Marble Slab for a gathering. Thank you Dr Edmund and his staff for being to warm and welcoming towards us. Thanks for the hospitality and thank you EME for bidding $208 for a cup of "Elson Milkshake". (",)

Another reason to be happy is because I get to see faces whom I have not seen for a loooong time. For one there is Tutty and two Shikin who specially came down to see me. I miss you guys too. Glad to see you all!

Finally, after months of preparation and anticipation, concert ended on a high!

I'm truly lost for words. So many words of thanks and so many heartfelt words to be said, yet I dont know where to start.

For one, I'm glad I've achieved the feat of being part of Singapore's history by being the youngest singer in Singapore to open a full pledge concert.

With that said, maybe I'll just share some photos with everyone first.

Headed down to Sony Music for meeting today. So many things to do these days. Concert is coming up in July too!

As we were heading back, we went through Iluma and I was surprised to see our concert stage still intact! Haha.

After that Mr Osman sent me down to the studio for my recording. I'm preparing my second album now. Today we are doing up a malay song for my album.

This is my producer/teacher Moliano. He is the guitarist of a famous Malay band in Singapore called Love Hunters. So honoured to have him to do up this song for me. This is him doing the arrangement for me in progress. Cool yea? His guitar skills are...... WOO!

If you have been following my Facebook page, you might have noticed the deliciously looking yoghurt that I posted two days ago. As promised, I will share the place!

The cafe is called, "Swirl Art", located at River Valley Road (it has another branch at Liang Seah Street). Basically it's buffet style yoghurt. You choose the size you want, fill it up with yoghurt and add your favourite toppings and you are good to go.

It's been an eventful week. Attended Wedding Malaysia 2011 at Singapore Expo. It's my first Malay event and I must say I'm very touched by the warm reception I received from everyone. Though I dont have a good grasp of Malay language, they did their best to help and guide me through.

It's been sometime since I last blogged. Was down with gastric problems for the last 2 days. Went to see a doctor after I couldnt sleep due to the pain 2 nights ago. My apologies for being "missing" for so long. I will update this space more often! To those loyal readers who have been checking out this page so often, I'm back!

This month have been very hectic for me, with all the school stuffs all piling up on me. On top of that work have been coming in by the swarms! But I'm glad for having all the people around me caring and concern for me. (",)

MV filming was fun. Great crew, great casting and of course great time. Though I do admit acting can be quite tough for me. Haha. MV storyline is really good with a twist. I'll leave it to you watch it for yourself when it's finally released!

This has been a long post I know. But before I go I just hope to do a last bit of my part for the quake victims in Japan. The damage that had been done is way more devastating that what had been reported. It's not just the physical structures that had been destroyed, but also the emotional trauma it had cost the people of Japan. Imagine waking up one day to find your entire block of building that you have been living for the past 10 years being completely floored. That feeling, is simply indescribable. Not only that but all the memories you have, your photos and all, gone just like that.

My heart goes out to them. You guys can do your part for them either by volunteering physically or through monetary donations.

Beverly brought me to Onikka at Eastpoint today. When I stepped in the shop, I was overwhelmed by the warmness of the Boss Sonny and Sabrina. Super nice people. (",)

Looked around and realised they have really nice clothes at very reasonable prices. Various designs and colours of polos and t shirts for different occasions and age groups.

I like their jeans the most. The wide variety for me to choose from made me so spoilt for choices, Sabrina had to make decision for me on what to wear. Lol.

Movie Review
Being Jay Chou's Hollywood debut, I would say it's pretty good. I'm impressed by his command of English in the movie.

That being said, overall I felt that the movie's storyline was not as good as I had expected it to be. But the entire movie and its effects made up for it.

Would recommend it to any superhero flick fans and Jay Chou fanatics.

The beginning of 2011 was a great start, also a busy one. Had an interview with OMY. I was pretty nervous but I guess it turn out pretty well. (",)

Last week was fun. Teffy flew to Singapore with his wife Deasy!

Pretty wife eh? Seeing them makes me feel so blissful. Lol. Anyway we brought them around and of course not forgetting doing music together. Happy to be working with Teffy. Learnt alot from him.

Managed to get help from Singapore Poly to use their studio. Their studio is top notch standard. We were all taken away by the set-up.

Met Geoff, the guy who mixed my《祝你幸福》5 years ago. I heard he had a hard time mixing. Lol!

My life 2010

It's been quite awhile since I'm here. My album and MV has been released and so it's been a busy busy month for me. I apologise if I havent been updating so frequently. (",)

As 2010 draws near to the end, I look back on my year. There are bountiful memories. Good memories, bad memories, there are. But I look back again and I realised of the many new people I met and knew, a smile draws on my face.

Anyway Jian Zhong 哥 gave me a slice of this chocolate cake some weeks ago and it was very nice!

But still, my favourite goes out to......

THIS!

The Chocolate Fudge cake from Liu San Ge (劉三閣). For a few reasons. First it's more pleasant for the mouth because it's not too sweet and the mixture of the chocolate and the cake is just nice. Second, it's handmade. I always appreciate handmade pastries compared to the mass produced. It's like special and it really does taste better.

Anyway yesterday was a hectic day. Went to distribute my album to sponsors! I hope they do like my album. (",)

3. Knowing Mdm Ong and Mr Sim.

4. Being the ambassador for Kee Song Group.

5. Signing under Sony Music.

6. Releasing my first debut album.

8. Knowing Simon 老師 from Echoloft and the entire bandies.

9. Having a mini concert at Echoloft.

10. Knowing Terrence, Xiao Long, TXR from Dreambox Studio.

11. Working with Teffy.

12. Being part of M18, where I get to know so many nice people.

Most importantly...

I'm thankful for a happy family.

And not forgetting...

All these people who made my life complete and wonderful. Knowing everyone here in 2010 is the best thing that happened. Thank you for being part of my life, thank you for being supportive and thank you for being always there for me. 這，就是社會的殘酷事實。

Penang Trip

Headed Penang last weekend for my pre-album launch promo. It's my first overseas event and I'm very excited!

Woke up pretty early, or can I say that I didnt sleep at all for the night, and headed Golden Mile to board the coach. Boss and Joseph were there to send us off.

Finally reached Auto-City at night at around 9pm. Time for 苏奕铨专辑歌唱比赛！

The designated song to be sang was "Saranghamnida". Throughout I hear different versions and variations and I would say I'm impressed by everybody. I totally enjoyed through the whole competition!

After that was already way past midnight. All of us havent eaten. So Bryan brought me to this place called Heng Heng. Very good food! (I'm missing it right now as I'm typing)

This is my food. Looks pretty spicy right? It is! HAHA.

As you can see my sexy lips turning red from the spiciness of the soup. But it's really very very nice!

After that we all went back to rest for the day. Day 1 concluded at 4am.

Day 2 started with breakfast before heading to Prangin Mall for my 2nd event.

It's been a hectic month. I couldnt take time off to do some decent blogging. Anyway, I'm back in action, for now. Lol.

Today while waiting for mummy I was outside Starbucks and there was this charity promo going on. I had the urge to do some donations and so I put some money in and got my complimentary coffee. Mummy did the same too. (",)

Album launch has been delayed due to the inclusion of a new sponsor!

It's been awhile since I last blogged. Hope everyone forgive me. Lol. It's been a really hectic month for me. Album preparations are enough to take a toll on me. Plus all the events and media interviews, woo! What a month!

But I'm glad to say that though I may be very tired, I'm also happy that things are starting to move. Recently "Saranghamnida" has been airplay by Yes 933 FM and I'm glad the listeners like the song. Thank you to all the DJs who have put in effort in promoting me and my song and also thank you to the listeners and supporters for their encouragement.

Thank you for everything that you've done and put in to me fore the past years. Noone knows what we went through more than both of us. It's been a hard road, but we know we will never give up till we reach the end. I know at times, there are bound to be disagreements and arguments, and I also know off all the tantrums that I may have thrown, but nevertheless, you are still the one dearest to me. Thanks for believing in me and guiding me through each step. People dont understand that dreams dont come true overnight. Even 諸葛亮 took 20 years to build his empire. But i do. I will work hard and we will work hard together. Let's make our dreams come true. Happy Birthday.

For the 5 years that I've been in Royal, I've been countless of talents coming and leaving. Some just disappeared, while some were disillusioned by the industry. But there is always this particular group of talented people that were closer to me - namely the Artiste group and Performing group.

Through the years, batches of PG and AG come and go. It's always the same old story though. They join the company, we all became close, then after sometime some misunderstanding happened and left, and so the story goes on and on. We thought we would never have a permanent family. Until recently, I started believing again. This group of artistes and performing group is the closest I was to till date. They know me, they understand me and most importantly, they all work hard and help one another and they are GRATEFUL and APPRECIATIVE.

Bryan, Joseph, Shanice, Jessica, Peter, Joanne, Stephen, Celin, Micka, Eddy, Wan Xuan and not forgetting the effort from Evon, Xing Yu, Serena and Jian Zhong 哥, thank you for working so hard and showing me hardwork, dedication and perseverance. Boss and I are proud of you!

I believe one day, everyone will reach their destination and achieve their dreams. As the saying goes: A happiness shared is doubled, aburden shared is halved. I know with everybody's effort, there's no dreams we cannot achieve. Well done everyone. Love all of you. (",)

MEGAMIND Movie Gala Premiere

Attended the gala premiere of MEGAMIND at The Cathay, thanks to the invitation from OMY.sg! To further make the event more interesting, guests were encouraged to be in their halloween costume. After much consideration, I decided to play "L" again this year and Joseph play Light Yagami and Shanice play Misa. I think Shanice looked really cute tonight. Lol.

Movie Review

One word: Awesome! This is one unique animation series that I've seen for a long time. For once, the villain is actually the good guy at the end. It's really different from the usual superhero flicks, this one the hero dies at the beginning of the movie. What impresses me is also the twist of the story towards the end of the movie. The injection of humour through the movie is also nicely and adequately done

It's really worth the catch. Must watch!

Today was quite a nice day. Went lunch with mummy and daddy after so many weeks. Havent got time to have a proper meal with them because I was pretty busy.

What is Love? I guess the definition of love differs from one to another. To me, Love is something simple. It's not about how good a person is, but rather whether you can still love the person without his/her goodness.

A movie about a Eunuch trying to find a way to grow his manhood back. Lol. The fighting scenes were quite well done though and there's where the 3 out of the 3.5 marks went to.

Midweek

It's midweek, and it's interesting how different people view it. Some view it as still beginning of the week, while others see it as near the end of the week. But again, it's in the middle. So it doesnt really matter? Lol.

School has reopened for me and I'm still trying to adapt to waking up early everyday. I think the holiday has destroyed my body clock and now I sleep late but got to wake up early and I end up with little rest and hence resulting in swollen eye, swollen toe and fever for the past week. I hope things can get better for now.

My cousin was admitted to the hospital last weekend due to an infection. Glad to know that he has discharged. I was pretty impressed with the facilities and conditions at KK Hospital. Fully air con wards, bluetooth earphones, personal telephones and patients get to choose their menu daily. They also have got tea breaks and nurses checks on them regularly. Excellent service I would say. Anyway this is my cousin playing his laptop. Lol.

I told him he's my idol. Haha. We chatted quite abit and I promised to give him a copy of my album (in return of a free treat. HAHA. Just kidding!). Anyway, I'm very happy yesterday as I met alot of people.

After dinner we went to Tampines Mall to catch Legend of Chen Zhen. Awesome movie. Check out my movie review!

A mysterious stranger arrives from overseas and befriends a local mafia boss. That man is a disguised Chen Zhen, who intends to infiltrate the mob when they form an alliance with the Japanese. Disguising himself as a caped fighter by night, Chen intends to take out everyone involved as well as get his hands on an assassination list prepared by the Japanese.

Movie Review
If this was the first Donnie Yen movie I watched, I would love it ttm. However the sad thing was this is the 5th or 6th movie I watched. The happy part was it's still nice to watch him fight, but the sad part was also it's too similar to Ip Man's action directing. Even my cousin asked me today if I have caught the latest Ip Man movie. I prefer 龍虎門 and Ip Man 1 and 2 to this. But there are still a few cool moves inside which are pretty new and exciting. Still I felt there was no need to impersonate Bruce Lee at the end part of the movie. I would recommend it if you just want to have a good movie outing with some friends.

Attended the launch of ToyWatch Singapore themed "Star Gazers Nite", at ION Orchard today. It was a truly stunning and star-studded event. Forlino Italian Restaurant

Today's dinner was rather a surprise than a present. I was treated to fine dinning today by a special person. It was not exactly something which we or rather I, would expect to go to have my dinner on a weekday.

Anyway the place is Forlino Italian Restaurant located at One Fullerton. As the slogan goes: "Singapore's Finest Italian Restaurant". It sure is.

First impression upon reaching the place was like, wow. Is this a maze or something. I think it's quite difficult to locate the restaurant as it's really deep inside of a building. But it sure does looks great on the outside.

The ambience was fantastic and the service was excellent!

This was the appetizer. Crab salad. Yummylicious!

Scallops. Fresh, juicy and tender. Slurps.

This was the main course. Duck pasta I think. Looks like Mee Pok dry to me. Lol!

This is the last course of the day before the dessert, Suckling Pig. I didnt know that Italians eat suckling pigs too.

Sunday With Peter Ng

I woke up with a headache today. I think due to lack of rest and also the hot weather. But I'm better now. Thank you all for your concern!

Had a great Sunday yesterday. Met new friends and also attended Peter's first music showcase! He did well and sang really well. I'm so happy for him that he finally have a stage of his own, living his dream as a singer and an artiste. Joanne and Nikki was his guest artistes for the day.

Nikki did great and I was very impressed by her violin performance! Joanne on the other hand impressed me with her vocals! It's a pity she is not a singer! Their duet on stage was very sweet and loving. Looking forward to their wedding! Lol.

Anyway these few days many friends have been enquiring me about Toy Watch! Some were asking about other designs and most were asking about the one I'm wearing now.

The one I'm wearing now is actually the Jelly Looped series, it's one of the latest series currently being released. Comes with many many different vibrant colours. The straps are changeable, meaning you can have one watch but with different coloured straps everyday.

After awhile Jane needed to go to the toilet and I stood in for her. Haha. I was giving out samples to customers and explaining to them regarding the mooncakes. Eventually I managed to sell one to this little girl. Durian flavoured mooncake. Lol.

After they found out I was just standing in, they was shocked. Lol. Later Boss explain to them that I'm a local artiste and they asked me for photo and autograph. Cute family yea? (",)

I thought the movie was pretty ok. But it was kind of not up to my expectations. I thought it had more humour. However I thought it was quite well done, in terms of the effects and everything. Making a talking real life Dog and talking real life Cat is certainly not easy. So if you're a Cat or Dog lover like me, go watch it! (",)

Today is a cool day. Why? Because it's 08.09.10. Get it? (8, 9, 10) It only happens once in a lifetime. So it's a cool day today. Haha. Ok, maybe only I think it's cool.

Anyway I met a long lost friend today at the MRT station. She's my friend from Millenia Institute when I was there for the first 3 months. After that we got separated as we all head to our own schools. Havent seen her for 6 years and there she is today in the same train as me. Lol.

Finished recording another song yesterday. It's great working with Terence 大哥 as we both can communicate pretty well together. It's also the first time I'm producing my own songs myself, so it's like added stress and pressure. But glad everything ended well. Hope you all will like the songs!

Finally I'm 22 years old! Lol. One year passed so quickly just like that. Many ups and downs but I would say I'm happy because I met alot of new people. People like Shi Xian, Shi Xuan, Wei, Esther, Silly Kid, Kenneth, Valerie, Irene, Joycelyn, Shing Hoong, Joanna, Shu Ping and many others. Also people like Evon, Xing Yu, Joseph, Shirley, Jane and many others whom have been supporting me all these while. Not forgetting Edwin 大哥, Sarah Sister and Loveena, God pa and God ma Mr and Mrs Wee,Boss Benjamin, Terence Ng and the Royal Family now. These are the people whom I've known this year.

It's the first time I'm doing endorsement for Donut Empire and Water Source.

It's also first time I go to Yes 933 FM for interview, first time taking part in drama production, first time filming my MV and etc.

It's been a great year.

Looking forward to the next year. Hopefully next year's today would be a very successful me.

Movie Review
Honestly, at first I thought this movie was quite well done. It got me rooted to my seat anticipating for what will be coming up next and I would say some parts got me all freaked out. But towards the end things didnt really ended the way I thought it would. The stuffs were too cliche and I would say pretty fake?

Still I would recommend this movie to all Singaporeans. I thought this was one of the best horror local production in recent years and you all should watch it if you have the chance. The movie duration is a little short though.

I guess one thing the movie did successfully was to scare Joseph out of his nuts. After the movie his entire leg went soft and limp and he couldnt walk properly. He thought it was real. As to whether it's real or not I'll leave it to your own discretion. Lol. As for Joseph, maybe the photos below will make you feel better or less scared. It's the Haunted Changi gala premiere.

Dayan's First Time 陳盈鹏的第一次

Dont be too shocked by the post title! Lol. What I meant was it's YP's first time today stepping into a recording studio recording his first song. It is also my first time doing vocal producing. It is really hard work and there are many things that I need to learn still. Nevertheless, it is a good experience for me today. I got to know of a talented producer Terence Ng and with his guidance and YP's hard work and talent, today's recording was a success!

Do I look tired here? I had a long day. Lol.

After recording we all decided to have dinner at Swee Lee Music Cafe. Boss Benjamin was there and we had a good chat. The food there is really nice! I think all of you should try out the food there. Moreover they often have bands performing there as well. Great food, good music, value for money and you will find your money spent worth while. Just in case you still unsure where's Swee Lee Music Cafe, it is located at SCAPE.

Sunday was an exciting day. It's the first time YP and YT doing a showcase and also the first time that I do my own guitar unplugged. I admit I wasnt as ready as I should be, reason being that I have so little time (like 1 day) to prepare 5 songs which I havent really sang before. Wrapped up an eventful Sunday attending Search For The Star 2010 Finals as guest judge and artiste. Met alot of new and old friends today. They are always so supportive of me. Of course I also miss everyone dearly. I feel that I havent seen them for a long time but Shi Xian and Shi Xuan say "Very long meh?". Haha. At least to me it felt long. Maybe because I miss you all more than you all miss me. Lol.

Something I happen to read. Share with everyone.

MARRIAGE

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that every day for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife's divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside
the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.
My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push thru with the divorce.-- At least, in the eyes of our son--- I'm a loving husband....

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you.

If you do, you just might save a marriage.
Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Caught Love In Disguise (恋爱通告) with Boss today. It's a very nice movie. Though some may have dismissed it off as boring or cliche, I personally like it very much. Maybe it's because after watching, alot of thoughts and thinking just became so clear in my mind. 好想让我想通了很多事。Besides that, I feel more motivated to work hard and make my own movie in future! I'm also inspired to learn more musical instruments, especially the traditional chinese musical instruments as well as more inspired to write songs in a different and more unique way.

Anyway I've got Lee Hom's new album, 十八般武艺, thanks to Joseph for buying it for me!

This album was very well done I think. Perhaps it's because of his movie and that's why this album's music are much nicer and also totally different from his previous few.

It's worth the purchase. I also got the limited edition key which was given for pre-orderers. Lol.

Today's training is tough. Haha. Havent trained like this for a long long time. Towards the end, Faith and Jessica actually had to do "public training" in the middle of a busy traffic light. I think they did pretty well. It was really a confidence booster for the both of them. Everyone did well today, even Joseph. Happy to see everyone improving and learning everyday. Movie Review
Honestly, I think this is a nice movie. Though as other critics might have mentioned that the front is boring or that the plot is cliche, but I think overall this movie deserves its accolades for showing how Lee Hom's life is like behind all the glory and glamour. In fact I think that this is what the life is like for most celebrities.

The storyline is touching and I think if you like Lee Hom (like me) or if you like his music, you should watch the movie. The music inside is also pretty captivating, which I feel Lee Hom himself had put in alot of effort in making. Go catch it this summer!

Upon returning, some of the members are mutating due to inhaling the bio-chemicals but Sunny seems fine from the exposure. They gain extraordinary superhuman powers. As there is an increase of crime in the city, the media and the police get involved. Movie Review

First and foremost, thank you OMY.SG for inviting me to the preview!

Before watching the movie, I had no idea what the movie was about. I thought it would be some boring show but how wrong was I halfway through the movie. This show ROCKS!

For once I've seen something fresh for a Hong Kong movie. Great effects and great theme to have. After A Date With A Vampire, I have never seen something similar which I like. This movie packs lots of action. It is also realistic, making it all the more interesting to watch.

Aaron's role in the movie was quite a breakthrough. Being from an innocent boy to a monster slaying hero. He managed to holistically present it out well. The theme song, 忘了怎么, which was sung by Aaron, is also very nice!

I like how the fighting scenes were done. Two thumbs up! It's definitely worth to watch!
